“Vision looks inward and becomes duty. Vision looks outward and becomes aspiration. Vision looks upward and becomes faith.”
Amy joined Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith in 2004. As a senior manager, she serves clients in numerous industries. In particular, she assists real estate, retail, construction and other small business clients. Amy also has expertise in insurance taxation. In addition, she is familiar with the structure and formation of small businesses.
Amy has more than fifteen years of experience in the public accounting profession. Her colleagues and clients would describe her as energetic and dependable, which is evident in many of her past client success stories. For example, when she eliminated a client’s long practiced and unnecessary tax procedure, she saved her client both money and resources allowing the business to operate at a more competitive level. She attributes much of her success to her parents who taught her she could do anything if she set her mind to it. As a three-year old she lugged her father’s heavy leather briefcase around the house with the claim that she was being “a countant” just like Daddy. Amy believes she is at her best and happiest when she is fully engaged in the work she enjoys and pressing toward the goal she has established for herself.
Traversing the state, Amy grew up in Andalusia, Alabama and now resides in Huntsville, Alabama. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, community outreach and supporting her husband, Scott, in his business and being a soccer, basketball, and dance mom to their three children.
